ChastainSkillman | DCCM provided comprehensive surveying and water/wastewater engineering services for the expansion of the Berkley Road Water Treatment Plant in Polk County, Florida. The project was designed to increase the plant’s capacity and improve water treatment infrastructure to meet growing demand.
Our team provided the following services:
Surveying & Geotechnical Services
- Conducted a topographic survey of approximately 6 acres, including existing wells, fencing, and a ground storage tank
- Partnered with Madrid Engineering Group, Inc. for geotechnical investigations to support design and construction
Water Supply & Treatment Design
Designed and permitted a new Public Water Supply Well, including:
- Water Use Permit modification
- Groundwater modeling and Impact Analysis Report
- Full design, permitting, bidding, and construction administration services
Designed improvements to the Water Treatment Plant, including:
- Installation of a third well pump
- Forced draft aerator
- 1-million-gallon ground storage tank
- Third high-service pump
- Associated site piping and wellhead appurtenances
Permitting & Construction Administration
- Managed permitting with local and state agencies
- Provided construction administration services to ensure compliance with design specifications
